Recently a controversial law was signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The law goes into effect on August 1st, 2016 and allows students to carry concealed firearms on college campuses in the state. However, many believe that carrying weapons on campus only puts students in danger.

In response, a protest has been planned by UT alumna, Jessica Jin. The event is to take place on the first day of the 2016 fall term. So far nearly 10,000 people are signed up for the event on Facebook.

The law has proved controversial for faculty and lawmakers as well.

However, students have gained the support of the sex industry, which will allow everyone to strap one on in the name of gun control.
