Your fitness journey is all about baby steps. You are going to fall off, get back up, become frustrated that your results aren’t coming fast enough and then finally be thankful for what you see in the mirror, whether you have achieved your end goal or not. Life is about ups and downs, and then having the strength to overcome those obstacles. So instead of being so hard on yourself for the down’s, why not pat yourself on the back for every positive milestone you make. Because it’s these small choices that add up to something big.
For me, when I fall off the bandwagon, I tend to say “screw it” and throw away the whole day. So, my goal these days – although longterm is to lose a few pounds and tone up – is to get right back up, put my running shoes on and make up for the cheat meal. At the end of the day, although still disappointed in myself for allowing myself to cheat, I’m more impressed that I chose to make it up rather than mope about it. Believe it or not, it is in these moments that you become a stronger, more confident person that will no doubt achieve whatever longterm goals or dreams you have chosen for yourself.
