Malia Obama’s marriage proposal worth $90,000 in livestock

It seems like love at first is a real thing still. A lawyer in Africa is planning on sending President Obama an offer for his daughter Malia’s hand in marriage.

Felix Kiprono, from Narois, Kenya, sent an offer in the form of 50 cows, 70 sheep and 30 goats.

“I got interested in her in 2008,” he said. “As a matter of fact, I haven’t dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her. I have shared this with my family and they are willing to help me raise the bride price.”

According to livestock pricing, Kiprono’s offer could be worth in excess of $90,000. This is some serious fairytale stuff, literally. It would be kind of sweet in a strange, weird way IF you forgot that Malia is a minor still and was only 10 when he first decided he wanted to marry her. Which is gross.

For another thing, she’d have to develop a taste for village life, which, after living in the White House the past 7 years, wouldn’t be easy.
“Ours will be a simple life. I will teach Malia how to milk a cow, cook ugali (a starchy dish) and prepare mursik (a sour milk) like any other Kalenjin woman,” Kiprono said.
