18-year-old model Madeline Stuart sets out to make change

Madeline Stuart is an 18-year-old from Brisbane, Australia. She, like many girls her age, aspires to be a model. However, there is one thing that sets her apart from the rest: she has Down Syndrome.
Madeline says that she hopes to show others that people with Down Syndrome can accomplish the same as those without. Her Facebook page, ‘Madeline getting Downs to modelling’, states that she thinks modeling will “change [society’s] view of people with Down Syndrome,” and that “exposure will help to create acceptance.”

From how fast pictures and articles about her are spreading, I definitely see a show reaching out to her for an appearance soon. Can you say Ellen?
Before starting her modeling career, she lost 45 pounds (for those that do not know, children with Down Syndrome are more likely to be overweight) and currently participates in dance, swimming, gymnastics and cheerleading. This girl is seriously amazing!

According to this post, she has already got her first gig, congratulations to her!

Deadites! I’m really pleased to have Madeline join the modelling team at LDC. We have our first shoot this coming…
